About Equine Guided Education
What is Equine Guided Education?
Equine Guided Education(EGE) is an experiential learning approach that provides the opportunity for participants to discover valuable information about themselves and the way that they interact with others. EGE sets the stage for this learning by giving participants the opportunity to observe and engage with horses in a safe and supportive environment.
The Equine Guided Educator (human horse specialist and coach/facilitator) provides the bridge between the participant and the horse, facilitating their interactions and drawing out and interpreting the horses’ responses and how they relate to the participant’s behaviors. This Equine Education team of horse and human encourages participants to become actively involved in their own learning as they move through a series of activities with the horses and the other workshop participants.

Why Horses?
Horses have a unique ability to provide uncluttered and non-judgmental feedback by mirroring what the human body and energy is telling them. Horses reactions aren't influenced by our titles, positions, power or wealth and so can give us more honest feedback than most humans can.
Horses make decisions based on intuition and their innate wisdom and can teach us to do the same. Working with horses we are able to get out of our heads and open up the possibility for creativity and innovation that comes from our tapping into our core selves.
Horses are natural leaders and we can learn from them what they practice every day with their herd: paying attention, giving clear direction, and focusing our energy. Through this practice we gain confidence in ourselves as leaders and decision makers.
Horses' survival relies on clear and trusting relationships with their herd and their humans. Working with the horses we can learn how to build trusting relationships by paying attention to non-verbal communication and ensuring that our actions are aligned with our thoughts and feelings.
